Jesse Jones Library Renovation

Since the original library?s grand opening in 1976, this renovation contract marks a first in the history of the 30+ year old library. The project design goal was to provide exceptional customer service for library visitors. In addition, the renovation provided approximately 34,000 sq. ft. of additional space for public use. Administrative personnel were moved into the Marston Building of the Houston Public Library System, creating additional, expanded spaces for the Children?s and Teen?s Departments to be relocated from the Concourse Level to the 4th floor, giving them views of Sam Houston Park and City Hall. Departmental sessions included over 35 different departments. Meetings were also conducted with the City of Houston to determine code applicability.
